About MD Milling
What started as a small woodworking project in 2012 has grown into a full-scale milling operation serving clients across Canada.
In the early days, we focused on building handcrafted tables from reclaimed wood. We were drawn to the character, history, and sustainability of salvaged timber — and to the idea that every piece of wood deserved a second life. What began as a passion quickly turned into a steady stream of custom projects and happy customers.
As demand grew, so did our curiosity about the process behind the material itself. That curiosity led us to our first sawmill; a Lucas Mill which played such a big role in our journey that we later named our son Lucas after it. What started as a tool became part of our family story.
Over the years (two wood mills later!) our small woodworking venture evolved into a fully established home-based milling operation. What was once part-time, weekend work has grown into a full-time business built on experience, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for wood in its natural form.
Today, we work with clients all across Canada on a wide variety of projects; from custom slabs and specialty cuts to unique builds that highlight the natural beauty of each log. Every piece that leaves our shop carries the same care and attention that shaped our very first reclaimed wood table.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come, grateful for the people who’ve supported us along the way, and excited to keep turning remarkable trees into meaningful, lasting pieces.
